Prinect User Days: Print shops want more automation and rely on hybrid production

Automated production control in a hybrid workflow environment was the focus of the Prinect User Days 2025. More than 300 Prinect users, mostly from Europe, took part in the two-day event, which was held at the Heidelberg Congress Center and the “Home of Print” at the headquarters of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) in Wiesloch-Walldorf. The Prinect User Days are a welcome forum by users for users to exchange information about working with Prinect and the further development of this workflow technology.

Dr. Andreas Pleßke confirmed as chairman of the drupa committee – course charted for the future

“It is a special honour for me to continue to actively help shape the development of drupa as chairman of the drupa committee. The world is changing rapidly – both in technical and political terms. Together with the committee we will ensure that drupa constantly develops further to also assert its pole position as a world-leading trade fair for print technologies in future and to orient the industry for the future,” explains Dr. Andreas Pleßke upon his re-election. His deputy Wolfgang Poppen also stresses: “drupa is the centrepiece of the industry, a place of innovations and technology launches. The coming months will be used intensively to further sharpen the profile of drupa’s position in 2028.”

OE-A elects new international Board of Directors

The members of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) appointed Dr. Alain Schumacher, IEE, as the new Chair of the Board of Directors at the end of January. Dr. Luke Pan, Brilliant Optoelectronic Technology is the new Vice Chair for Asia. Dr. Carsten L. Herzhoff, Lohmann, and Dr. Chloé Bois, ICI are elected as Vice Chair Europe and North America respectively.

Design for Recycling: INGEDE Symposium Munich / Online

Paper for recycling is still in short supply, the circulation of daily newspapers is falling, and with it the amount of raw material in the paper bins. There is now toilet paper made from cardboard or straw, but these raw materials are not suitable for high-quality recycled paper.

World’s first Jetfire digital printing systems from Heidelberg go to customers in Switzerland and Germany

“Hopp Schwiiz, hopp!” (“Go Switzerland, go!”) is a chant well known to soccer fans around the world. It is also fitting for Swiss company Gremper AG as the world’s first user of a Jetfire 50 from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). The new industrial inkjet system is set to start operating at Gremper from the end of March. It will be used particularly for high-quality print runs, often involving personalized products. The company is also commissioning a latest-generation Speedmaster XL 106-8-P+L, leading to an overall capacity expansion in a hybrid production environment.

Precision meets efficiency: manroland Goss completes press relocation for NPG Druckhaus in record time

In just six months, manroland Goss, leading supplier of web offset printing solutions, has successfully completed the complex relocation of a Colorman newspaper printing press from Crailsheim to Ulm. The challenge: to dismantle and transport a complete printing system in record time, putting it back into operation at the new location. Thanks to precise planning, an experienced team and close cooperation with NPG Druckhaus, production of the daily newspapers was able to start on time.
