Hankyung Media Group: Colorman e:line installations successfully tested

Hankyung Media Group, the publisher of the renowned The Korea Economic Daily, has reached another milestone in its comprehensive newspaper printing project with the successful test runs of its two new Colorman e:line printing presses from manroland Goss. On Monday, the new production facility impressed during a formal ceremony attended by Kim Jung-Ho, President and CEO of Hankyung Media Group, with its excellent print quality, high production speed, and advanced automation. The new printing plant sets the standard for innovation and efficiency, reinforcing Hankyung Media Group’s position in the South Korean newspaper industry.

Hankyung Media Group has built a state-of-the-art printing facility on a 11,500 m2 plot at its new production site in the Bupyeong National Industrial Complex in Incheon, west of Seoul. The centerpiece of this facility consists of two Colorman e:line printing systems from manroland Goss, each equipped with six printing units, reel splicers, and folding units, as well as a comprehensive automation package. Thanks to flexible configuration options, the facility can produce up to 380,000 copies per hour with 24 pages or 190,000 copies per hour with 48 pages in color – a unique feature within the South Korean media industry.

Colorman e:line: Print quality and automation at its finest

The highly automated Colorman e:line presses exemplify state-of-the-art tech-nology in web offset printing. They combine outstanding print quality with maximum efficiency and enable cost-effective production for both large print runs and smaller contract print jobs. Thanks to their comprehensive automation package, unit costs are reduced while productivity is significantly increased – an essential advantage in the competitive newspaper market.

The importance of this step is further underscored by the presence of the top management of the company, who, as part of the celebrations for the 129th anniversary of the Korean Newspaper Day, officially inaugurated the test operation of the new printing press. “The successful test runs confirm that we have taken the right path with this new installation,” said Chul-Soo Kim, Executive Director of Hankyung Media Group. “With the two Colorman e:line systems, we are setting a new standard and strengthening our position as South Korea’s leading contract printing company.”
