Not only are raw materials selected according to strict quality criteria used in production, but particular emphasis is placed on sustainability and environmental compatibility - from renewable energies to the ingredients: All products are solvent- and phthalate-free and therefore comply with the guidelines for food packaging. The coating plates are suitable for all types of the latest dispersion and UV coatings as well as speciality coatings. A special surface technology ensures optimum coating transfer without coating build-up.

Birkan GmbH was founded in 1924 as printing blanket manufacturer and distributor “Birkner & Kandlbinder OHG”, making it one of the oldest specialised graphic arts retailers and blanket converters in Germany. This 100 years of experience benefits customers worldwide. Birkan stocks a comprehensive range of different blanket qualities not only for standard offset applications, but also for special requirements from plastic to metal and intaglio printing. The product range also includes underpacking materials and measuring devices. All printing blankets and underpacking materials are converted in the company's own production facility – one of the largest and most modern in Europe – and are currently exported to over 70 countries worldwide. Birkan also manufactures laser-engraved elastomer printing forms and stripped coating blankets and plates.
